Our Junior Firefighter program was established in 2009. We are proud to provide the
opportunity to allow the young men and women of our community to participate in our
organization. The junior program allows the young people in our area the opportunity to learn and discover the wonders and challenges in the field of the fire and EMS services. They are required to follow standard operating guidelines, which cover areas such as school grades, respect, morals, behavior, and
citizenship. They participate in classroom and practical training, and are invited to train
with the senior firefighters. They attend our regular monthly business meetings, participate in
fundraising, and most functions of the department. Once they reach the age of 18 and have graduated high school, they are
eligible for full membership to the department. We realize that our young people are the
future of our department. There are many benefits with membership to our program. If you
are interested in membership, click on the New Member application tab for a Junior’s application. After completion of the application, please bring it and a parent and/or legal guardian to our monthly business meeting, typically, held the first Saturday of each month. The meetings begin at 11:00 a.m.
If you are interested in learning more about the Junior program, we invite you to come up to the station on Saturdays to visit with any of the members. For additional information, please contact Assistant Chief, Gary Ford, the Junior’s Supervisor at Gary.Ford@newdealfiredept.org
We work and train, but also have fun.
